Overview
George Martin, with their contractor Gipping, undertook the commercial refurbishment and fit out of a second car dealership on West Mayne, Basildon. Similar to the recent Nissan project, this dealership was situated in the middle of the Toomey Basildon business park with the challenges and constraints this brings the project was completed in Spring 2024.
Formerly a Nissan showroom, parts warehouse and workshop, George Martin employed Gipping Construction as Main Contractor to undertake comprehensive refurbishment and remodelling to the showroom and parts areas to successfully deliver the new Hyundai dealership.
Due to the site constraints and with any spare space being used by the neighbouring Nissan dealership, staff were accommodated in accommodation alongside the project site. Although space was limited, a vehicle display forecourt was also established to allow customers to view and test drive vehicles.
The dealership required remodelling with the removal of the large parts warehouse, this is now part of a larger showroom area. New finishes include furniture, floor tiling, lighting, audio visual and Hyundai branding.
Externally, all previous signage was removed with the new Hyundai branding installed to all elevations. New branded totems are placed strategically to offer improved roadside visibility.
